This website gets scraped a lot, whilst I don’t mind people using my content to some extent I don’t like it when people just rip my content to put in the middle of their own Adsense without any sort of mention of who actually wrote it. About 90% of the links I see in my WordPress dashboard are from scrapers when I include a static URL to one post from another.
Wouldn’t it be cool though if you had a way of adding a link to the RSS feed which says who originally wrote the content and a link back to the original post? Well now you can with a very simple WordPress plug-in called RSS Footer by Joost De Valk.
The only problem I could possibly see with using this is if Google see it as some sort of gaming of their results (we all remember the trouble of Google Bombing don’t we?) but this plug-in seems to have got the green light from Matt Cutts so that is good enough for me. I’ve only just started using it but I’ll let you know how I get on.

Hey thats a nice plugin Paul. I actually heard about it some time ago when I was looking for ways to stop the scrappers, but never used it as I was actually looking to block them. But heck, if we can’t block them than lets at least use them the way they use us.
I had organic traffic from keyword “Michael Grey” when I had never mentioned that great guy on my blog, but a scrapper has used that name as anchor text when linking to my content (should I be rolling my eyes? LoL)
