My Search Funds Becomes HomePages Friends
I’ve been using My Search Funds Now for nearly a month and don’t have anything bad to say. So far just my own searches have netted me nearly $15, add in the searches from my 120+ referrals (and their referrals) and the total means I’ll be getting paid very soon! Not bad at all for doing what I was already doing anyway. As far as getting referrals goes it’s not a hard sell, get paid for doing the internet searches you do anyway, who could resist?
In the time I’ve been using My Search Funds they’ve had problems with their Meta search engine but the good news is that things are now sorted. Whilst it didn’t hurt any earning potential it did raise questions about future plans. In a move to rebrand My Search Funds have now become HomePages Friends. As part of the re-launch they’ve now also teamed up with a permanent search partner in the shape of Yahoo. This is excellent news for future stability and shows that they are in fact a serious business with long term plans. I can’t wait to get my first payment from them and will be posting proof as soon as I get it.
For those not in the know HomePages Friends pay you for doing the searches that you do anyway. It works by installing an extra search bar in your browser, every time you use this to search you get paid (no popups, spyware, extra ds). Average payment for each search is around 2p-3p (or $0.04 - $0.06 US). What I’ve learnt since using it is that I don’t search as much as I thought, even so I’ve quickly built up some nice earnings with them. Before you ask, you are paid a percentage of the advertising revenue that they generate from Yahoo so it is a pretty future proof plan, certainly as long as Yahoo are still around! The key with earning money with these systems is to get your friends on board, HomPages Friends will pay you 3 levels of referral, so you’ll be earning from your friends, friends, friends searches. As I’ve found already the numbers soon start to stack up. When I joined My Search Funds there were about 70,000 members, when I look today I see that HomePages Friends has over 100,000. This is growing quickly and it’s the early adopters that will benefit most.
HomePages Friends has quickly become one of my favourite totally passive income earners. Why not give them a go, you’ve literally got nothing to lose?

Hi Paul!
Congrats for your many referrals! I’ve personally just started promoting MHF and so far I already got 7 new friends within only 2 days (yes, nobody could resist).
Anyway, have you taken a look at their new site (myhpf.co.uk)? Unfortunately there’s nothing stated about a 3-tier affiliate program anymore. I also can’t login with my current email address and password (although it works with the site I got redirected to after visiting the old mysearchfunds.com).
Next thing is, on their new site they state to work together with Ask.com, but I only see searches powered by Yahoo?!
At the moment it looks kind of weird to me, especially because I can’t even send them a mail to get some clarification, because their mail-server is down. It looks like they are having two different sites running at the same time, and I don’t know which one I should use now…
Maybe you have some more infos?
Cheers,
Querblogger
@Melvin: They have a 20 pounds minimum payout.
Querblogger’s last blog post..My HomePages Friends - Update Two - New Name, Earnings, Search Engine
Hi,
I’m up and running with the new site, I login using the following URL:-
http://www.myhpf.co.uk/orglogin.asp
and haven’t had a problem. My account was moved fine without me having to change anything. Details of the referral program and how much you could potentially earn are here (although I think it’s a little bit over the top with the numbers), it looks like the multi-tier is in place to me?
This is from the FAQ I see regarding the search partner, do you see something different?:-
I already use another search engine, are your search results as good?
Opinions on search engine providers are clearly subjective, but we beleive that YAHOO! provides extremely high quality search results that compare favourably with the available competition.
If you’re seeing something different then maybe it’s because it’s GEO targetted? I’ll try and get in touch with them (I had a couple of conversation with them when I first joined up) and see if I can get confirmation as to what is happening.
Just a quick update. Their mail server isn’t down, the enquiry address is full! I guess there are a lot of people with a lot of questions! I’ll see if I can get hold of them using an alternative.
Hi again and thanks for that fast response!
I’m currently using the same address to log-in to my account and so far it seems working right, only the download of the search bar plugin doesn’t work anymore.
I was just a bit confused about all those different websites. First there’s the site where you log-in, http://www.myhpf.co.uk/orglogin.asp. Second, there’s http://myphf.co.uk (without the www), which has a different site design and where you can’t login with your login data (the site where I haven’t found information about the referral program and where’s stated they are using Ask.com as their search engine). Last, there’s http://www.homepages-friends.com, which redirects to http://www.whitedotbox.com but has nearly the same design as the site mentioned before…maybe they haven’t completely finished moving all “old” account to their new site or something like that.
Anyway, thanks again Paul (and sorry for posting so many links).
See you,
Querblogger

No probs, I was a bit confused by the whole White Box thing as well. From what I can tell they are developing on their live site, not the best thing when you’ve got over 100,000 members! Time to invest in a development environment boys?
Anyway, it looks like everything is tracking correctly and there is still money to be made, that’s always my number 1 concern!
Hehe, I just thought the same. They should really think about their project management.
Anyway, as you already said, the stats are updating and it seems I’m making money too!
Bye,

deanouk123@yahoo.co.uk
Hi Dean,
You need to use the refer a friend link that’s available from the dashboard. For example mine looks like this
http://www.myhpf.co.uk/apply001.asp?Friend=72338
Replace the 72338 with your membership number and you should be good to go. By the way, how do you know you’ve referred 40 people if none have showed up?
Has HomePages Friends paid you?
I just got around 20 referrals and the good thing is their always search using this. So far, i still far away from get my first payment from HomePages Friends.

I’d like to comment that depsite having reached their minimum payout in july and waiting the specified 45-60 days to be paid I have still not been paid and have seen on quite a few forums that they still havent paid people owing from march of 2008 around the time they rebranded.
Its starting to look like a site thats too good to be true.
i live in jamaica an i create a website using google pages an its going on good but i need more view an i have google adsense an it but im not making any money as what i kno i could make so if u kno of a easyer way i could make money thats works please reply back to me ok
I’ve been using this for about 5 months and have made £29.90 but still have not recieved a single payment.
Has anyone else actually been paid?
James you should get payment within 2 months of earning £20 or more. That’s how it worked for me anyway.
This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. My friend has just been banging on about this, in an attempt to get me to switch. It just isn’t worth it! 2p per search and £20 payout. You do the math. Sure, it’s something you’re going to do anyway, but you forget that companies like Microsoft spend millions on getting people to switch search engines and have so far failed. 2p per search is nowhere near enough to get me or my other friends to switch from Google. And thats the only way your really going to make any money from this - like a pyramid scheme and we all know how well they work.
The maths say roughly 1000 searches to reach payout. If you’re the sort of person who uses the internet a lot (i.e. doesn’t go straight to FaceBook and Bebo) then an average of 20-40 genuine searches a day shouldn’t be that uncommon. At the very lowest end that would be 50 days to reach payout.
There is no way you are ever going to get rich using it but that’s not really the point, it’s more about making a little for what you normally do for free?
I am also using it and have referrals that have made no Searches also It has not been updated for almost a week but I find the help section not very useful and would like to know a time of day when they update the server. There is No messages Since March and I am Starting to think twice about using it.

I’m afraid referring people who then take not action is all par for the course, it happens a lot (if you’re lucky maybe 10% will be active). The good news is that they are changing there referral program soon so you get a flat £1 for each referral.
