Ah well, such is life. First of all I’d better explain my apparent over keen interest in Page Rank. Put simply it’s because I’m a professional SEO consultant and real companies like real performance goals (No matter how pointless). Page Rank is one such goal, Page Rank gives business people who know nothing about the web something to talk about (Kudos to Google for that one), that things are moving forward and that their money is going somewhere. Of course the profit they make online is the most important goal but like I’ve said previously PR is just one more thing for me to check. Cool, so why the PR2 here?
Some Linking Mistakes
It’s a good job this is one of my personal websites because I have made a couple of quite big mistakes with my first jaunt into blogging-
Overall the linking pattern here is not that natural at the moment, this combined with my posts about TLA (even though I’ve never sold a link from this site) and buying links has probably resulted in a downgrading of my PR. On raw link data it really should be much higher but Google are just not that easy to work out! Chances are I’ve got several months before the next export to correct it so that might be an interesting little case study into how to build a natural linking pattern. Then again visitor numbers, RSS subscribers and earnings are all on the up so should I care? (Who am I kidding, there is professional pride involved here).
In better news every client site has been upgraded and most to a 4 or better (One site was only started the beginning of October!). Of course it means nothing in terms of profit but it keeps them happy and that keeps me happy.

I got PR4. Was quite happy with that. Obviously the only benefit is for ego stroking but still..
You really got the point Paul and have found out what might have not permit you to jump to the PR5 as predicted (usually when I see predictions to sites I always count 1 number less and all the time thats what has happened).
Anyway as you said, you got 3 more months to build PR to your site, thats if you really care honestly, if its something personal, but if it is to gain PR and make money of it it won’t last long (you know about the recent buzz of downgrades). Another thing, the niche of your blog is so open in keywords that you could combine them how ever you want and all to look so natural.
What I would say is build a better internal linking structure this will not only help share some PR juice with your inner pages, it will also help the inner pages rank higher in the SERPs (some of my inner pages rank very well, and others have gained a good PR as well).
oh p.s. (merge this with the previous post please) you might not have build PR, but you have done VERY well with your content and your RSS subscribers (I am kinda jealous, and since I want to rank higher some of my inner pages I won’t be able to concentrate on building the RSS readers).
You’ve sort of caught me out, a few more posts will be keyword specific (although still on topic). My post on TVLinks for example spent 2 days at number 1 in Google for for a hugely popular phrase resulting in masses of lovely click happy traffic!
Still can’t find anybody to buy my onlinetv.im domain though
Man, I’d be happy just for a pagerank.
Too bad to hear that you have had a PR drop
But, on the other side, great to hear that most of the sites of your clients are 4+. Myself I have PR3 now. I’m quite happy with it!
