Shopping For Profit

Don’t stop posting, one of the golden rules, well I’ll apologise for taking a break already (surely there is nobody reading this yet anyway?) but I’ve just spent 2 days shopping in Liverpool with the family. One problem with living on the Isle of Man is that when it comes to clothes anything you buy locally will be worn by at least 20 other people making nights out a bit like a game of snap. Every now and then it pays to go away and have a shopping splurge and as part of my wife’s birthday present I’d arranged for a few days in Liverpool splashing some cash. I’m not the greatest shopper in the world or a fashion guru for that matter so I won’t go into the ins and outs of the days, my legs still hurt thinking about it but at least my wife and daughter had a great time. I did manage to get the Indiana Jones collectors set for a bargain price though, so that was a result.

Whilst I was away I thought it would be interesting to see how much money I made for doing no work. We were shopping, I was making profit, hence shopping for profit. Adsense over the 2 days was good, bringing in $312.46 Enough to pay for the boat and hotel (The Crown Plaza which comes highly recommended). Affiliate sales amounted to nothing on Friday but on Saturday I managed 4 sales totaling just under $50. I haven’t got the totals for Kontera yet but I’m estimating around $80 for the 2 days judging by Fridays total. Software sales of my own software were good, not earth shattering but enough to add another $60 to my total and with all other income sources bringing in an amazing $5 that gives a grand total of somewhere near $507.46 for the 2 days. Convert that back to real money and I made about £250 for 2 days of doing nothing but being dragged around shops. With days like that maybe we need to go away more often?
